The exciting new Panasonic G1 banishes the notion that all SLR cameras are bulky. This impressively compact model combines a downsized body with advanced camera features. The dramatic reduction in size is made possible by a Live viewfinder (via 3 inch LCD screen) instead of a conventional optical viewfinder.
Image quality is also excellent. The Panasonic Venus Engine HD reproduces delicate colour nuances faithfully and will reduce any picture noise, even at high ISO levels. And with a 12.1 megapixel resolution you’ll be able to print poster size photos and get creative with your cropping, while retaining detail.
If you’re feeling a little daunted by manual mode, the G1 also features intelligent Auto (iA). This incorporates six incredibly smart automated functions into one simple mode to help you get the perfect photo every time. These functions include Face detection for perfect portraits, Intelligent ISO to reduce blur, and Intelligent Exposure to correct parts of the image that are too dark or too bright.
Dust can often be a nuisance with many interchangeable lens camera, but you’ll be pleased to know the G1 features a Dust Reduction System which vibrates around 30,000 times per second, repelling dust and maintaining superb image quality.
