The Sony A380 combines extremely high quality imaging and creative flexibility that’s easy to use. It’s also compact, stylish and lightweight – perfect for holidays and weekends away.
The A380’s 2.7 inch LCD screen tilts up or down for comfortable viewing in different positions – ideal for when you’re shooting above a crowd or crouching down. The screen features a graphic display for easy operation and it will show you a live image preview of your shot. And if you’ve never used an SLR before, help is at hand. There’s an on-screen help guide and a choice of Scene Selection modes.
At the heart of the camera lies a very high resolution 14.2 megapixel CCD sensor and a BIONZ image processing engine which will enable superbly detailed, low-noise images that can be blown up to poster size.
The SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization will reduce camera-shake during handheld shooting. You’ll also get great results in low light without the flash thanks to a high sensitivity of up to ISO3200, while the D-Optimiser can adjust the contrast and exposure of a slightly lacking image to give perfect results. Focusing is quick and simple too thanks to the 9-point Auto Focus.
There’s even a self-timer mode which shoots bursts of 3 or 5 frames to cut the risk of your subjects blinking in portraits and group shots. It also features a HDMI output, allowing you to display your photos on a HD ready TV (requires additional cable).

The shorter the focal length (measured in mm), the wider the view will be – the longer the focal length, the more telescopic the picture.
