Canon PowerShot SX150 IS Camera Review

Canon unveils today the PowerShot SX150 IS, a value-oriented ultrazoom with a 12x optical zoom lens. It offers manual shooting modes as well as automatic modes, including Canon's Smart Auto mode with 32 individual scene modes

The SX150 maintains the same zoom range and 28mm wide angle lens as its SX130 predecessor, adding 720p HD video to the mix. Use of the camera's 12x optical zoom is available during movie recording. The SX150 also adds a new Intelligent IS image stabilization mode, designed to automatically pick the correct IS mode based on shooting conditions. Options include Normal, Macro, Panning Dynamic, Powered and Tripod.

At the heart of the new SX150 is a 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor (ruling it out of the CMOS-only HS High Sensitivity class), a boost from the SX130's 12.1 megapixels. A 3.0-inch LCD is available for composition and image review.
